WP8 - Project management and consortium coordination

WP leader: Nicolas Friggens - Institut National de la Recherche Agronomique (INRA)
Associate WP leader: Agathe Renard – INRA Transfert

Involved partners: INRA, AU, TEAGASC, EFFAB, FiBL, IT, SRUC, DLO // WR, INTERBULL
GenTORE is a multi-disciplinary project bringing together scientists from genetics, animal physiology, veterinary science, socio-economics and mathematical modelling. It also includes partners from the breeding and farm technology industries, the farm and veterinary advisory services, as well as trans-national agencies. This project structure as well as the consortium size (22 partner organisations) explains the need for a work package devoted to the project steering.

To ensure the success of GenTORE, WP8 provides the overall scientific management, administrative and financial management, as well as the linkages to the European Commission and the GenTORE stakeholder committee.  Key elements of the project management are to maximize interactions between partners, and to ensure that the project progresses in conformity with the work plan with regard to overall progress, milestones, deliverables, and planned outputs.
Objectives
In order to maximize interactions between partners, WP8 has a three-fold objective:
  • At the strategic level; to steer the project to address all unexpected situations: scientific, technological, environmental or societal.
  • At the operational level; to ensure that the project progresses in conformity with the work plan with regard to overall progress, milestones, deliverables, and planned resources.
At the organisational level; to optimise the infrastructural setup to support the project, with special attention paid to financial, logistic and coordination issues in conformity to EC rules and procedures.
Tasks
  • T8.1 – Strategic steering
  • T8.2 – Scientific management
  • T8.3 – Administrative and financial management of the Consortium
  • T8.4 – Project research data management
