GenTORE Stakeholders
GenTORE engages stakeholders from industry including breeding associations, trans-national organizations, farm management and veterinary advisory services and farm technology companies. These stakeholders, directly engaged with GenTORE from the start, represent a core that will be enlarged with other stakeholders who are keen to bring their input and to be recipients of new technologies and data.
The inclusion of stakeholders from the beginning of the project is a major plus as it will bring in many more ideas and views. It also means all outputs will be fit for purpose and be immediately relevant to what is happening in daily practice on beef and dairy farms. They will also be more user-friendly and thus adopted rapidly and seamlessly by farmers and breeders, also on the long-term. |
|
In addition, GenTORE will count on its multi-actor partners and two stakeholders levels:
- stakeholder level 2 includes stakeholders actively involved in the project (i.e., those who will be consulted during project orientation),
- stakeholder level 3 includes the stakeholders who will be the final users of the project results. These level 3 stakeholders include both policy makers and the relevant media.
Project partners and actively involved stakeholders (i.e., levels 1 and 2) will profit from working cohesively towards a more resilient and efficient beef and dairy cattle production sector.
Potential users
The direct end users of GenTORE outcomes are;
GenTORE brings together multidisciplinary scientific expertise in genomics, environmental assessment, nutritional physiology, health management, precision livestock farming, mathematical modelling, and socio-economics; partners and stakeholders representing breeding organisations, farm technology companies, farm and veterinary advisory services, and farm sectors (organic, grazing, etc.); and a unique data basis including more than 1 million genotypes. |
Stakeholders Platform (SP)
Stakeholders platform (SP) is an advisory body constituted of a group of persons and organisations representatives that express a stake or view at a certain moment of the project and are willing to share these with the project partners during stakeholder meetings and consultations. They will play a key role in the dissemination and exploitation activities of the project.
This group will have a flexible membership and will include representatives from all GenTORE targeted audiences. The platform could be extended with additional stakeholders to have larger round table discussions. |
Among the stakeholders platform members there are three degrees of implication.
The first level includes partners actively involved in GenTORE WPs. A second level of stakeholders includes those actively involved and consulted, while the third level is constituted by the final users of the project results. The stakeholders platform includes core groups from the L2, the stakeholders committee (SC) and the scientific advisory board (SAB). |
Stakeholders Committee (SC)The Stakeholders committee (SC) will provide external points of view on the work in GenTORE to the Executive Committee (Ex.Com) and the General Assembly (GA). It will be used for feedback and input on the project results applicability and exploitation.
It will be informed and consulted on a regular basis (every six months at minimum) by the researchers in GenTORE. The stakeholders committee will have the right to review and provide their opinion on the project results before they are submitted and disseminated. |
Scientific Advisory Board (SAB)The scientific advisory board (SAB) is a consulting committee to the Ex Com to advise about the progress of research WP. The SAB consists of 3 internationally renowned scientists skilled in at least one of the domains covered by GenTORE.
The SAB has also a view of current trends and potential innovation aspects of interest to beef and dairy production sector. It is expected to make suggestions to the Ex Com on specific topics that could open new application areas. Meetings of the SAB will be scheduled yearly. |
